Costner married Cindy Silva in 1978 but the marriage of 16 years did not stand the test of time. In one of Hollywood’s biggest cheating scandals, Silva decided to end her marriage to theWaterworldactor after alleged reports that Costner invited an exotic hula dancer to entertain him privately during a film shoot in Hawaii. The celebrity reportedly regretted his behavior and beseeched Silva to reconsider divorcing him. According to sources,

Kevin Costner and his wife of 18 years Christine Baumgartner have officially filed for divorce. The couple who share 3 teenagers together have cited“irreconcilable differences”as the reason for the separation. A representative of Costner issued a formal statement which read,
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
According to sources, Costner who is an integral part of the seriesYellowstone, had a grueling schedule that did not allow him to spend quality family time with his wife and children. Baumgartner’s alleged ultimatum to Costner to leave the series in favor of his family was the straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak. Meanwhile, pictures of Costner reportedly hugging two women before the official news of his separation is now throwing up rumors about his history with infidelity.
