John Wickstar Keanu Reeves reveals that artificial intelligence and deepfake technology scare him despite starring in several science fiction movies. These technologies are designed to imitate and reproduce real-life images and sounds and even learn the mannerisms and everything that makes people human.
Reeves has been in the entertainment industry for four decades, and has maintained his image and stereotypical roles of a badass agent or a decent guy wronged and now seeking revenge. But, when it comes to modern life and technology, he chooses to be an old-fashioned guy.

Keanu Reeves Shares Distaste For AI Technology And Deepfakes
In an interview withWired, Keanu Reeves revealed his dislike for most modern advancements, especially computer-generated ones. He also talked about the dangers of artificial intelligence and deepfakes.
“What’s frustrating about that is you lose your agency. When you give a performance in a film, you know you’re going to be edited, but you’re participating in that. If you go into deepfake land, it has none of your points of view. That’s scary.”
The action star also noted how intriguing it is for humans to take interest in such study and how it affects us in socio-political and global aspects.
“It’s going to be interesting to see how humans deal with these technologies. They’re having such cultural, sociological impacts, and the species is being studied. There’s so much “data” on behaviors now. Technologies are finding places in our education, in our medicine, in our entertainment, in our politics, and how we war and how we work.”
AI technology and deepfakes are a growing trend in the entertainment industry. It helps editors and directors design what they want the viewers to see and put to screen their exact vision for the film. It can be used to de-age or age-up characters, clone performers, or customize the settings of the movie.
Reeves also said that these types of technology hurt performers in a way that they are stealing the jobs of real people.
“The people who are paying you for your art would rather not pay you. They’re actively seeking a way around you because artists are tricky. Humans are messy.”
Chad Stahelski, director ofJohn Wickfilms, said that he sees AI technology as an aid to improve the quality of films. There was an AI-produced digital art for background use inJohn Wick, and the filmmaker also shared that younger artists are very much into that kind of tech.

John Wick Takes The Fight Around The World In Chapter 4
Keanu Reeves will be starring in the upcoming fourth installment of theJohn Wickseries. The film is reportedly the longest to date, with 2 hours and 49 minutes runtime. The cast also includes Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, and Rina Sawayama, among others.
The movie’s synopsis reads:
“With the price on his head ever increasing, legendary hitman John Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Japan to Berlin.”
The franchise is also releasing a spin-off series entitledBallerina, starring Ana de Armas.
John Wick: Chapter 4will arrive in theaters on June 02, 2025.
