Why is Gareth Edwards The Right Man to DirectThor 5?

As it has been stated before,Thor 5is going to have a much darker tone, something that has not been shown before in the franchise’s history. As a result, Marvel believes that Gareth Edwards is the right man for the job, as he has done more serious work than Taika Waititi, who would make the film entertaining with his light, humor-infused style.

Moreover, Gareth Edwards is believed to be the right candidate for this job, as hisRogue One: A Star Wars Storywas gripping and had the tone that Marvel Studios is trying to showcase in the franchise. Moreover, Edwards has more experience with writing and visual effects in these genres which might give him the advantage in bringing a more serious and thematically appropriate look and feel to aThorsequel.
