In an Instagram video, the lead of the series, Jack Quaid (who plays Hughie Campbell) is seen mocking Starr. Being a Homelander in real life, the actor curses Quaid and goes on about his day while Jack Quaid jokingly says that they“are friends in real life”.

Before Starr was finalized for the role of Homelander, the actor didn’t read the script for a week and a half. Thinking that the superhero role should go to Henry Cavill instead of him, Starr was very insecure about his own body as he revealed toMetro UK.

“I didn’t look at [the script] for a week and a half and then I saw it was a superhero thing and I thought they’re not going to pick me anyway, I’m not made for that. Henry Cavill’s 12 feet tall, built like a 12 foot brick sh*t house and he’s wonderful, handsome, and charming-I’m not going to get that.”
