In an interview withInquirer Entertainment, theTitanicactor shared his experience stating,

“Inception is the same. It is Chris delving into dream psychoanalysis and, at the same time, making a high-octane, surreal film that came from his mind. He wrote the entire thing, and it all made sense to him.”

Nolan’sMementois a great project that was surprisingly shot in less than a month after the director took time to explore the complexity of the film. He opened up about working on it for three years to make it more layered which was highly reflected in what we have now.

“I’ve got three years to work on this thing and as a viewer you’ve got like two hours to watch it, so it ought to be functioning at some level of greater sophistication than you can absorb in one viewing. I had that opportunity to cheat in that way and make it more complex or more layered or whatever because I had that luxury of time.”

Meanwhile, lead actor, Guy Pearce toldGQthat he was unable to get a hold of at it first but he caught on to some elements that resonated with his thoughts.

“The thing was that even though on some level it felt like gobbledegook as I was reading it, because you got the sense that things were all over the place, what I really got and what was really clear was the emotional journey of the character. As the actor that’s the only thing I need to latch onto to do my job.”

Mementoturned out to be a critical and commercial success earning $40 million worldwide. Since then, it has gained cult status due to its non-linear structures and other elements that amplified the overall ambiance of this project.
