Despite the mixed reviewsThe Witcherhas grown to become one of the most popular TV Series, the show has been adapted from the book series of the same name by Polish writer, Andrzej Sapkowski. One of the key reasons that the show got extremely popular was because of Henry Cavill who played the role of Geralt of Rivia.
He played the character for 3 seasons, however, he was replaced as the main character as he disagreed over the direction of the show. Hence, he decided to part ways with the show, switching places with Liam Hemsworth. But it looks like theMan of Steelactor is returning to be a part of the show as Lauren Hissrich has confirmed that the actor might return to be a part of the show.

Henry Cavill To Return ToThe Witcher?
Netflix’sThe Witcherhas been a hit show from the first season of the show itself, all credit toHenry Cavill’soutstanding performance as Geralt of Rivia. The show received widespread acclaim as he had been flawless in his role, due to his love and knowledge for the series and character, and he was immensely dedicated to playing his role as close as to the real character.
But when Cavill officially announced on his Instagram that he would be parting ways withThe Witcher, it was like a thunderbolt to the fans. Though he did not explain his reason for departure, reports state that he parted ways because the show deviated from the source material. However, during an interview withEntertainment Weekly, Lauren Hissrich, the showrunner of the show, shared that they have not decided, yet to bring back Cavill to work behind the scenes of the show. However, she did not rule out the possibility of his return as well,
“We haven’t even thought about that at this point. I hope that this doesn’t end for a while, so I think the possibilities are endless, and we’ll see what happens.”
The addition of theEnola Holmesactor behind the scenes would be amazing as he knows a lot about the franchise and adding Cavill with the writing team would mean that the show will be closely following the source material making it more authentic and entertaining for the original fans of the novel series.

The Witcher’sExecutive Producer Blames The Fans of The Show For Show’s Disappointing Review
The 3rd season of the Netflix Original show features Henry Cavill for the last time as Geralt of Rivia. Countless fans are infuriated at the show as it failed to meet their expectations, as it featured a complicated storyline, but most importantly it deviated from the source material. Hence, it led to a massive drop in viewership.
During an interview withWyborcza, Tomasz Baginski, the executive producer ofThe Witcherstated that the“Americans”are responsible for making the show overly popular, hence, they struggle to meet their expectations.
“When a series is made for a huge mass of viewers, with different experiences, from different parts of the world, and a large part of them are Americans, these simplifications not only make sense, they are necessary. It’s painful for us, and for me too, but the higher level of nuance and complexity will have a smaller range, it won’t reach people.”
Hence, it would be extremely positive for the show to bring Cavill back as it will add to the reach and expectations of the fans of the franchise.
