After nearly 5 months, the Writers Guild of America’s strike finally came to an end as union leaders approved an agreement made with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Writers are now all set to return to the halted projects. Major studios around the world like HBO, Netflix, Warner Bros., and Universal are all set to make their comeback.

With the strike out of the way, many Hollywood projects are continuing their productions. Many big studios weren’t able to produce episodes for the fan-favorite TV shows. HBO’sThe Last of UsandEuphoriawere some of the first franchises that were affected by the strike, but now, fans can expect a major announcement soon.
HBO gears up for its comeback
HBO’sThe Last of Us, which is often labeled as the best TV adaptation of a video game, was renewed for a second season in January 2023. HBO’s other major TV show,Euphoriacreated waves in early 2022 and was renewed for a third season in February of the same year.
As HBO prepared for these projects, the Writers Guild of America ruined its plans for these franchises. After 5 long months of waiting, the strike finally ended and HBO is now all set to continue production for these shows.

HBO’sHouse of the Dragonis all set to return
2024 will be quite exciting for fans of HBO’sHouse of the Dragon.Five days after the premiere of its first season,House of the Dragonwas renewed for a second season. The filming for the second season of the show was wrapped up during the strike.
With most of the work sorted, the show is all set to release in the summer of 2024. The show was able to continue production during the strike since it falls under a different UK union contract called Equity.

Many major projects will continue their production
Fans were worried that the strike would affect James Gunn’s highly anticipated film,Superman: Legacy. The film, which will hit the theatre in 2025, is all set to introduce fans to Gunn’s reboot of the DC Universe. Warner Bros. has many major projects lined up, which will now resume.
Apart from this, Paramount is all set to resume production ofStar Trek‘s reboot andTom Clancy’s Rainbow Sixadaptation. Universal is excited to announce the second part ofFast Xas its production begins. Netflix quickly got its writers back on the desk to work on the second season ofWednesday.
